About Ocean Springs
Ocean Springs is a city located in Jackson County, between the cities of Biloxi and Gautier. Known as the “city of discovery,” it was originally discovered in 1699 by Pierre Le Moyne d‘Iberville, a French explorer. It served as the first permanent French outpost located in French Louisiana and was designed to prevent Spain’s invasion on France’s colonial claims. The outpost remained until the early 18th century.
