Activities for Children on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Adventure is yours for the taking in the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This southern area along the Gulf of Mexico is shared by 12 Mississippi towns: Wiggins, Waveland, Vancleave, Pass Christian, Pascagoula, St. Martin, Saucier, Ocean Springs, Moss Point, Long Beach, Kiln, Gulfport, Gautier, Diamondhead, D’Iberville, Biloxi, and Bay St. Louis.

Every town offers a diverse list of activities for people of all ages, especially children – from ziplining through the trees to learning about marine life. Here are the best activities in the Mississippi Gulf Coast for kids:

  • Zip’n Fun Adventure Park

Located next to the Gulf Islands Waterpark, the Zip’n Fun Adventure Park is the perfect place for adults and kids to unleash their inner Tarzan. The adventure park is known for their 50-game obstacle course that will take

them through the aerial trail. Participants ziplining from tree-to-tree will  balance on swinging logs, and climb up hanging ropes. Kids that fit the height requirement can take on the challenge of completing the Junior Adventure Course.

Reservations for the Zip’n Fun Adventure Park should be made in advance and a waiver form must be filled out before starting the course. You can find the Zip’n Fun Adventure Park on 16th Street, Gulfport. For more information about the park hours and reservation dates, you can visit their website.

  • Hint Hunter

Kids can put their detective skills to the test at the Hint Hunter Puzzle Room in D’lberville. The participants are required to use the clues and items in the interactive escape room to solve the given scenario before time runs out. Exciting scenarios include searching for the secret file and unlocking the mystery treasure.

Puzzle rooms need to be scheduled in advance and waiver forms must be signed upon registration at the venue. The Hint Hunter Puzzle Room is located on Diberville Boulevard, D’lberville. For more details, visit their website.

  • Lava Links Golf Club

Kids will definitely enjoy golfing at the Lava Links Golf Club. This unique miniature golf course is located at the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort on Central Avenue, D’lberville. Kids are challenged to putt the ball in an 18-hole course  while being surrounded by an erupting mechanical volcano, serene waterfalls, and entertaining music.

The Lava Links Miniature Golf Course is open every day from noon to night. Check out the Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort website for more details.

  • Buccaneer Bay Waterpark

Get ready for a splash at the Buccaneer Bay Waterpark inside the Buccaneer State Park in Waveland. This pirate-themed waterpark has numerous attractions that kids love. The popular slides and water areas are the Pirate’s Plank, the Pirate’s Plunge, Lil’ Smuggler’s Cove, and the Pirate’s Lagoon. The

waterpark also has a large concessionaire and food court area called the Sea Dog Galley.

The Buccaneer Bay Waterpark is located in S. Beach Boulevard, Waveland.
